8 teams will make the Quarter Finals. The bottom 2 will meet in a Wooden Spoon playoff match, with the loser being awarded the Wooden Spoon. These finals will take place the week after your League fixtures have finished. The Finals have already been scheduled on your Fixture List so please have a look at this. Games will be 40 minutes and match fees will apply to both Quarter and Semi Final matches. If you win your Quarter Final, we will see you the following week, if you lose, we will see you in the Bar but unfortunately not the following week in the Semi Finals.
If you are lucky enough to win your Quarter Final Games, Congratulations you have made it to the Semi Finals! Here your team will play a 40 minute Game (match fee applies). If you are successful you will then progress to the GRAND FINAL on the same night! The Grand Final (no match fees) will be played on the SAME NIGHT as the Semi allowing you a brief rest period to prepare your team. Semi Finals and Grand Finals are both 40 minute games. In Junior Leagues U7 – U10 All finals are 30 minute games.
Teams must field the same players in the Finals as they used throughout the season.
As of 2014, Finals in all competitions will see the “Challenge Rule” brought into play. The Challenge Rule is based in the Finals part of the Season only. The Challenge can ONLY be made in the first 2 minutes of the Finals if a player thought not to be part of the squad enters the field of play. The Rule in place allows a team to make a Challenge against the Opposition to the Referee if they feel a team has fielded an ineligible team who haven’t played in their Comp during the Season. The Referee will then speak with Management who will then make a decision, which is final. This rule has been brought in to stop teams fielding higher grade players in lower grade Leagues just for Finals.
