What is the CENTRAL COAST FOOTBALL ACADEMY (CCFA)?
The CCFA is designed to further develop a child’s soccer skills, with a specific focus on challenging them to become better team players. The CCF Academy Teams format plays a key role in the development of young players.
The CCFA program is run and delivered by Dean Heffernan, along with his CCF Academy Coaches. The program is the official feeder program into the Central Coast Mariners’ Academy.
The CCF Academy Coaches will develop players to fulfil their full potential. The CCFA is the next stage of the Player Pathway in your child’s strive for excellence. Players are selected to be in this program if they have attended the CCFA & CCMA Trials, RDP program, RDP Elite program and / or Juniors At Soccer5s program.
Players will be selected to play for the CCF Academy at the follow age groups:
U9, U10, U11 & U12
The program focuses on the 4 Core Skills, as well as the 4 Main Moments of the game, in accordance with the FFA’s curriculum. The CCFA will see players training 3 times fortnightly, moreover playing competitive games every second Sunday. Days for training will be confirmed at a later date.
It is the intention to select 6 teams per age group, with each player representing one of these teams. The 6 teams will play against each other in a league format, based at Pluim Park, i.e. 10x competitive matches – against one another – plus a finals series.
The program begins on Saturday, 29th October 2016, with the teams competing at Soccer5s, Tuggerah, subsequently rolling into the 2017 pre-season schedule. Additionally, there will be numerous gala days and development games played against Central Coast Mariners Academy teams.
Please Note: The CCF Academy U9 to U12s are run in conjunction with your local junior club, therefore children must be committed to both in order to be eligible for CCFA. CCFA fees do not cover registration for local junior clubs.
NEW for 2017
Association Youth League – U13, U14, U15 & U16
The CCF Academy U13 to U16 teams will compete in the Association Youth League of the Football New South Wales (FNSW) competition for the 2017 season.
These are the right age groups for the players to be with us on a “full-time” basis. Coaching will be more focussed on the ‘game training’ phase of the curriculum.
